Is Amazon Freevee free?
Yes, Amazon Freevee is absolutely free. It will remain free forever. So you can start watching your favorite series and films on Amazon Freevee without any worries.
To stream, you only need a free Amazon account. Amazon Prime or Amazon Prime Video are not required.
However, you have to accept that advertisements will be displayed while you stream, as this is how Amazon Freevee finances itself.
What is Amazon Freevee?
Since August 1, 2022, Amazon has been offering a free streaming channel in addition to its paid streaming service Amazon Prime Video. This is called Amazon Freevee.
Anyone can use Amazon Freevee. All you need is a normal, free Amazon account. You don't need an Amazon Prime or Amazon Prime Video subscription. Amazon Freevee is financed through advertisements that are displayed while you stream. Since there are no costs involved with Amazon Freevee, you take no risk or obligations and can start streaming immediately.
On Amazon Freevee you can find great series such as 2 Broke Girls, Bosch:Legacy or Falling Skies and many films from a wide variety of genres such as Tiger Milk, Crocodile Island or Attraction, completely free of charge. Simply browse through the many categories and easily find the right content for your taste.
Amazon Freevee app
There is currently no separate Amazon Freevee app in Germany. However, Amazon Freevee is integrated into the Amazon Prime Video app. Here you can find Amazon Freevee as a separate channel.
You can find the app under “Amazon Prime Video” in your app store, such as the Google Playstore or Apple Store. Downloading is completely free. You do not need an Amazon Prime or Amazon Prime Video subscription to register. To register, you only need the login details of your free Amazon account.
In the app you will find the “Channels” tab at the bottom. Click on it and scroll down a bit. Here you will find the “Freevee” channel. You can watch this content for free at any time.
Amazon Freevee Content
Amazon Freevee is constantly changing and updating its content. New films and series are constantly being added and occasionally others are removed. Amazon Freevee is currently still in its early stages in Germany. However, the range is continuously being expanded and improved. But even now you can find countless films and series on Amazon Freevee. Whether science fiction, drama, anime, action, horror, documentaries, German and European productions, thrillers, crime or comedy - there is a suitable genre for every taste on Amazon Freevee.

Our Amazon Freevee experiences
We welcome the new Amazon Freevee offer and have had very positive experiences with it. Amazon Freevee now allows people who do not want or cannot afford a paid subscription to enjoy streaming via Amazon. The offer is now, shortly after its launch in Germany, quite broad and is constantly being expanded. We believe that the advertisements are worth it.
One point of criticism, which is often helpful, is that some series that were previously offered on Amazon Prime Video can now be found on Amazon Freevee. This means that paying Amazon Prime Video customers no longer have the option of streaming these series ad-free. In addition, some Amazon Prime Video customers who do not want to watch content with advertising are annoyed that Amazon Freevee content is displayed in the channels and they cannot filter it out. We hope that these problems are teething issues that Amazon will resolve quickly.
As users of Amazon Freevee, we cannot find any other points of criticism. We see a big advantage in the ease of use. Since most people already have an Amazon account, using Amazon Freevee is particularly easy because you do not need to register again.
